EMI shielding conductive elastomer gasket

Description

In EMI shielding, conductive elastomer gasket is the most common shielding material. Conductive elastomer is a new type of polymer material that is made by uniformly filling conductive particles into polymers such as silicone rubber or fluorosilicone rubber through mixing, vulcanization and other processing techniques. Gasket combines the environmental sealing properties of silicone rubber itself with the high conductivity of conductive particles, which can not only meet the requirements of conductive grounding and electromagnetic shielding, but also achieve environmental sealing. Among them, the types of conductive particles include silver, aluminum silver-plated, copper silver-plated, glass silver-plated, graphite nickel-plated, and high-conductive carbon.

Production process:Molded and Extruded Conductive Elastomer
EMI shielding elastomer products are mainly made by molding and extrusion.

Conductive elastomer molding (extrusion) process flow chart
Through the molding process, EMI blocking elastomer can be made into fully conductive rubber sheets, gaskets and composite conductive rubber gaskets. The gaskets can be processed into various shapes according to the drawings. Through the extrusion process, EMI blocking elastomer can be made into various continuous strips of fully conductive rubber strips and composite conductive rubber strips. The cross-sections of the strips include rectangular, circular, "D"-shaped, "U"-shaped, "P"-shaped, "M"-shaped, "B"-shaped, hollow "B"-shaped, and various thin-walled structures,or closed loops of various shapes can be customized directly from the company.
The main production equipment includes internal mixer, open mixer, extruder, flat vulcanizer.

EMI shielding conductive elastomer extruded gaskets
Conductive strips have the characteristics of low density, high compression deformation, continuous length and arbitrary cutting. Through the design of different cross-sectional structures, the compression deformation of the material between the electronic component housing can be changed to meet the engineering assembly applications in different environments. Conductive strips are single extrusion molding products, and their structural types can be divided into solid and hollow. They mainly include: solid O-shaped, solid rectangular, solid D-shaped, hollow O-shaped, hollow rectangular, hollow P-shaped, hollow D-shaped, U-shaped, etc.

EMI shielding conductive elastomer sealing gaskets
Conductive elastomer sealing is made by combining conductive and non-conductive parts using a special process. The conductive part makes the material have good conductivity, while the highly elastic non-conductive part makes the material have good water-vapor sealing performance. The strong bonding force between the two parts makes it difficult to peel off the interface layer of the material. Composite conductive rubber has excellent compression capacity, and its special structural design makes it have good salt spray corrosion resistance and mildew resistance.

    • Features
       Low density
Excellent compression set and water-vapor sealing properties
Meet high waterproof level and good electromagnetic shielding performance
Good tensile strength and elongation at break
High compression, up to 15% to 60%
       Easy to compress and install
       Wide operating temperature range
       Good corrosion resistance

    Selection of conductive rubber materials

Pure silver & silicone rubber: anti-mold, suitable for conditions that prevent microbial growth, with the best shielding performance and conductivity, and good physical properties.
Glass silver-plated & silicone rubber: the best performance-price ratio, suitable for the communication field and ordinary military occasions, and good performance in non-corrosive environments.
Copper silver-plated & silicone rubber: the best conductivity, resistant to EMP impact, suitable for military occasions, and can be used as a gasket for waveguides and connectors.
Aluminum silver-plated & silicone rubber: high shielding efficiency, electrochemically compatible with aluminum chassis, military gaskets are used in corrosive environments, and are light in weight, and are widely used in the production of various shielding sealing gaskets.
Aluminum silver-plated & fluorosilicone rubber: high shielding efficiency, high corrosion resistance, high oil resistance, can greatly improve the reliability and service life of the product.
Graphite nickel-plated & silicone rubber: low price, good electrochemical compatibility with aluminum, and has high conductivity and excellent environmental sealing, which can be applied to general military products.
Highly conductive carbon & silicone rubber: Provides low-end shielding, good tensile strength, not corrosion-resistant, can maintain physical and electrical properties over a wide temperature range, and is most suitable for applications in electrostatic discharge or corona discharge.
